New for 2021 – A class recognizing the history of the tournament through its players
As we move into our 48th year, there are many ways we recognize the previous 47 tournaments. There are pictures, videos, cheers, recipes, lists, awards and of course the conversations you might be part of during the nights. Now we add one more this this list, The Legacy Class.
This new bracket will include players who reach back to the tourneys beginnings and founded the practices and traditions that are now baked into the fabric of the tournament. The Legacy players are living history.
And, truth be told, they are old. So the class will account for this by:
Not making them play against players half their age
Scheduling all matches to end before 9PM.
Early Bird buffet hours and to-go boxes
Ball wranglers to retrieve balls and reduce bending over
No serve, including Gary Reno’s will be considered illegal
Bringing the Blue Ball Rules back in play
ELIGIBILITY
Players requesting Legacy Class Status must be 60 years and older, have played in the Tournament at least 5 years and have never won class AA.
Players cannot play in both the Legacy Class and a regular class.
